When Buffy the Vampire Slayer premiered on March 10, 1997, nobody expected a show about a teenage girl fighting demons to become one of the most influential television series of its era. Running for seven seasons on The WB and UPN, the show launched careers, inspired countless imitations, and built a fanbase that remains passionate decades later. The cast members who brought Sunnydale to life have gone on to wildly different paths — some became even bigger stars, others stepped away from the spotlight entirely. Here is where the iconic Buffy cast members are today.
Sarah Michelle Gellar Became a Cookbook Author and Devoted Mother

Sarah Michelle Gellar carried the entire series on her shoulders as Buffy Summers, earning a Golden Globe nomination in 2000 for Best Actress in a Television Drama. After the show wrapped in 2003, she dove into film work with the horror hit The Grudge and reprised her role as Daphne in the Scooby-Doo sequel. Television called her back with Ringer in 2011 and The Crazy Ones alongside Robin Williams, though neither lasted beyond a single season. She made a memorable cameo as herself in The Big Bang Theory series finale. Beyond acting, Gellar published a cookbook called Stirring up Fun with Food in 2017. She has been married to Freddie Prinze Jr. since 2002, and together they have two children, Charlotte and Rocky.
